The four agreements: 1-Be impeccable with your words 2-Do not take things personally 3- Do not make assumptions 4- Always do our best.
In the abstract sense we are all born completely empty. Through a system of rewards and punishments we are domesticated with rules and regulations. We are told what to believe and what not to believe.
We grow up to a certain point where we no longer need our parents to domesticate us. Our incessant need to be accepted and our fear of rejection does the job just fine. We enslave ourselves in beliefs that we never take time to question. These beliefs which are handed to us guide our lives. They produce our failures and our successes, our misery and our happiness, our actions and inactions, and our sense of pride and sense of shame. The problem though is that about 95% of these beliefs are false. You may not be where you want to be today because of the false beliefs that you continue to hold about the world and about yourself.
